Disclaimer
Please read this disclaimer carefully before using apisecurityguide. It covers important limitations on the use of information published on this blog, the tools in the Security Tools Hub, the challenges in the Cyber Playground, and particularly regarding cybersecurity and ethical hacking content.
apisecurityguide (accessible at apisecurityguide.com and apisecurityguide.blogspot.com) is an independent educational cybersecurity site owned and operated by Amardeep Maroli, an individual blogger based in Kerala, India. It includes the blog, the Security Tools Hub, and the Cyber Playground. The following disclaimers govern the use of information, tools, and interactive challenges on this site.
1. Educational Purpose Only
All content on apisecurityguide — including articles about hacking techniques, vulnerability exploitation, penetration testing, malware analysis, and security tool usage, as well as the simulations in the Security Tools Hub and the games in the Cyber Playground — is published strictly for educational and informational purposes only. This content is intended to help readers understand how cyberattacks work so they can better defend against them.
apisecurityguide does not encourage, endorse, promote, or support the use of any information, tool, or challenge on this site for illegal, unethical, or unauthorised purposes. The techniques and knowledge shared on this site must only be applied:
- On systems you own outright
- On systems where you have received explicit written permission from the owner
- In controlled lab environments created specifically for practice (such as TryHackMe, HackTheBox, PortSwigger Academy, or the simulations in the Security Tools Hub and Cyber Playground)
- Within the scope of a formal, signed penetration testing or bug bounty programme
Applying security testing techniques to any real system without authorisation is a criminal offence under the Information Technology Act, 2000 (India) and equivalent laws in every other country. Violations can result in arrest, prosecution, imprisonment, and civil liability.
2. Security Tools Hub & Cyber Playground
The dashboards in the Security Tools Hub (such as AttackSurface AI, IdentityGuard AI, and SentinelForge AI) and the games in the Cyber Playground (such as SOCVerse AI, Firewall Defender, Packet Investigator, PasswordLab, Cloud Security Challenge, and others) run entirely against simulated, fictional, or synthetic data. None of them scan, exploit, connect to, or otherwise interact with any real network, cloud account, or third-party system.
- Any company, target, dataset, or "customer" shown inside a tool or game is fictional and does not represent a real organisation or individual
- These tools and games are demonstrations and training aids, not production-grade security software — do not rely on them to assess, monitor, or secure a real environment
- Scores, badges, and leaderboard positions reflect engagement within the simulation only and carry no professional, certification, or legal weight
- Techniques practiced inside a tool or game may not be applied to real systems without the same authorisation required in Section 1
- Availability, features, and content of the Security Tools Hub and Cyber Playground may change or be withdrawn at any time without notice
3. No Professional Security Advice
The content on apisecurityguide is written by a cybersecurity enthusiast and student, not a certified professional security consultant, lawyer, or financial advisor. Nothing on this site — including its blog posts, tools, or games — constitutes professional security advice, legal advice, or recommendations for specific security decisions in production environments.
If you are responsible for securing a production system, network, application, or organisation, you should engage qualified, certified cybersecurity professionals. Do not rely solely on blog, tool, or game content for critical security decisions.
Security requirements vary significantly based on jurisdiction, industry, regulatory environment, and specific technical context. What applies in one scenario may not apply in another.
4. Accuracy of Information
Every effort is made to ensure the accuracy and currency of information published on apisecurityguide. However:
